Randy Peters

Director 1986 - 2016

Randy Peters was one of Canada's most brilliant Barbershop Chorus directors.

Randy came from a very musical family where hearing the chords and harmonies, something most of us can't hear, was just normal and he started singing in a Barbershop quartet during his teens.

Randy began his chorus directing career with the Red Deer chorus. Moving to Calgary to earn a degree in education Randy joined Stampede City Chorus, eventually becoming director and leading them to the Evergreen District Chorus Champions in 1984. Randy took the chorus to International Competition in Minneapolis, MN in 1985.

In 1986 Randy and a few others formed Western Hospitality Singers. Randy's skills, knowledge, patience and leadership saw Western Hospitality Singers become the perennial Alberta Barbershop Chorus Champions for over twenty five years. He was a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for 58 years and in 2013 Randy was inducted into the Evergreen District Hall of Fame.
