Yes, Vocal Vortex performs at private parties and events. Here we are on Valentine's Day, performing by special request at a private party celebrating a wedding anniversary and Valentine's Day. The striped vests and bow ties were also worn by special request.
Vocal Vortex wrapped up its 2015 Christmas singing season at the Taylor Performing Arts Centre on December 20th. Our quartet sang as guest performers in the Christmas concert presented by the Leon Leontaridis Vocal Studio. Mr. Leontaridis is a professional voice instructor, singing coach and theatrical performer in Calgary.
There are those who are without families and friends, without homes or jobs, and trying to avoid becoming hopeless. The men of Vocal Vortex joined several volunteers to sing at a Christmas lunch for about 200 of these less fortunate people. The volunteers cooked and served a hot lunch for these folks and Vocal Vortex served up some Christmas music strolling minstrel-style. moreNo, this has nothing to do with pro wrestling, but it DOES have a lot to do with 2 quartets singing for over 200 people at a Christmas dinner celebration in Calgary. Vocal Vortex and Lovin’ Tuneful took turns performing as separate quartets, but also ringing chords as a VLQ (very large quartet). The Christmas spirit got a definite boost from Bob, Cam, Doug and Emery singing with Darcy, Dave, John and Murray. In this case, more is definitely the merrier.
We're just warming up! We entertained clients at a private Christmas party for over an hour. We sang, we joked, and we even taught our audience the tag to "We Wish You A Merry Christmas". What a ho ho hoot! Plenty of Christmas performances ahead in the next 2 1/2 weeks.
On Wednesday, December 2nd, Vocal Vortex returned for our second year to entertain another of our corporate clients. We sang for over 200 people at a very large charitable organization in Calgary, bringing Christmas music and spirit to people who bring it to thousands of those in need in Calgary.
