Outreach: part of our mission that gives us joy.

On Monday December 29th Western Hospitality Singers had the opportunity to sing for Abe Penner's family and friends. We met Abe and Esther while singing at a hospice a couple of weeks go and we were pleased to be asked to sing at his service.  

We got a great note of thanks from his daughter: 

"What an amazing job you did for my Dad’s funeral on Monday! And I was overwhelmed by so many of you taking time during the holidays to do this for our family. Thank you so much.  It made me smile to hear you as it reminded me of the all the men’s groups my Dad has sung with over the years. The song selections were perfect too! Particularly as Silent Night was the song you sang for my Mom and Dad while my Dad was in Rosedale hospice.  My Dad was such an incredible man and it makes this transition a bit easier knowing the tribute was so perfect."

UPDATE: We recived notice that the family has made a donation through CanadaHelps to CALGARY WOMEN'S EMERGENCY SHELTER ASSOCIATION in honour of our participation in Abe's service.  What great way to honopur Abe's memory.
